Everyone grows,
But not everyone knows;
Yes they grew,
But what you never knew
Is behind grown men and women
Are all lost children,
The child without a friend
The one that was beat and starved
One on whose heart was carved
Hate, bitterness and distrust
They are all lost
Still looking for love
Still trying to find resolve
They are asking questions
And searching for answers
Their adult bodies never cry
But the lost child cries forever
They did grow
But they never matured
They never were structured
The curses held them back
The abuse left them black
How do they genuinely love?
All they knew was hate
How do they genuinely smile?
All they saw were scowls
In a big round world
Amidst the chaos;
They try to live best
But beneath is great unrest
If you ever choose to judge,
Do remember;
All the lost children,
Waiting to be found.
