NO REASON TO KILL

Posted on with No comments

Some said let us blame it on God
Some said blame it on race
The world is still ablaze,
From the fire of hate
Yes! The one we people create
When my home was rampaged,
And my people died under rage
With no respect of age,
All I saw was people
No, it was not religion behind the gun
Under the light of the sun,
I saw the fire in your eyes
And felt your hearts cold as ice
You were flesh and blood
You were nothing odd
You lived like us, natives
Some I called friends and relatives
So please let us not pretend,
To see what you defend.
It wasn’t race,
It wasn’t religion.
You find the reasons forever,
Because there was none ever,
When you pulled the knife,
And you took a life,
It was all you
You know that’s true.
Don’t hide cowardice behind religion,
Because all I see is opinion.
Don’t hide fear behind a gun
Because you fool no one.
Don’t tell me it is about color
Color is one under ‘humane’ law.
At the end when all is done,
We were all victims
Just on different teams
Yours a team without reason
And mine a world wanting to be free.

ONE UNDER THE SUN

Posted on with No comments

The world is one word,

One place

Held by a single cord

A beautiful fabric,

One of many colors

One race;

It’s called humanity

When the sun

Gazes on the earth,

It sees neither white

Black or brown

But the color of the world

The beauty of nature

And the purity

 Of humanity

The sun knows no color,

The rain no race

The wind whispers to all

Humanity is a beautiful rainbow

In love,

We must embrace

The difference

That yet makes us one

ALL BEAUTIFUL

Posted on with No comments

She stares in the mirror
She sees an image
But it’s a misdemeanor
She feels much rage
The image speaks voices
Loud and crazy noises
“Not good enough”
“Not slim enough”
“Not fair enough”
“Not tall enough”
“Not beautiful enough”
She’s imprisoned by voices;
“Get heels so high,
I’d be tall enough”
“Lose weight of my thigh,
I’d be slim enough”
“Just a little bleach,
I’d be fair enough”
“Just a bit more rich
I’d be good enough”

Beneath the surface
Beneath the sad face
Beauty searches for resolve
True self waiting to evolve
Beauty asking for answers
Who defines beauty?
Who creates beauty?
Who weighs beauty?
In the petals of flowers
In the green of nature
In the running waters
In the colors of rainbows
Lies a world of blended beauty
The difference of colors
The difference of shades
Give the world a beauty,
Beauty that never fades

Our beautiful world
Is all in differences
Different shades and colors
So are beautiful people
What makes you different,
Makes you all beautiful

LET ME SEE THE SUN

Posted on with No comments

I may be the image of a man
A man who broke your heart
I may be an ugly hand
That tore your dreams apart.
Take a chance,
Let me see the sun

Hold me in your loving arms
And let my innocent eyes,
Full of all your charm
Melt away the cold ice.
Take a chance,
Let me see the sun

I will be your new aspiration
I will share all your tears;
I will be a companion.
Let go all your fears.
Take a chance,
Let me see the sun

Please be to me a mother!
If just for a single day,
Let me take in air
If you’d have me stay,
Take a chance,
Let me see the sun
